Funder Possibility: Coca-Cola Foundation
Am in the process of working on the grant application for Coca-Cola Foundation. Their site indicates they support education initiatives and based on my basic description, they said to go ahead and go through the app process. Will do this and print the application out for the grant proposal part of the grant packet along with other information to further elaborate if needed. I'm breathing a sigh of relief because it was getting a little stressful for me since there are elements of the proposal that not all places will consider. The Coca-Cola Foundation has supported the parent organization in the past so hopefully this will trickle down to the state level.

This sounds like a very good lead. How would the language you've already developed need to change? Would the partners you're working with need to change a lot?
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, the language isn't going to change much. Previously the drafts I had appealed to Oberkotter's focus on spoken language opps for children and putting educating educators in there was a plus. For this new funder, their focus is on education, access to education so in a way, this is a bit of a lateral move with little change. Access to education is important for those with disabilities so that's the appeal I am going with and by making educators aware of strategies for making it least restrictive and understanding their legal responsibilities, education is a bit more accessible for this population. The partners I'm working with will not change as the experts are currently in public education.
